3 Social Media Campaigns to Drive Business at Your Restaurant

It goes without saying that in 2019 social media is a restaurateur’s best marketing tool. There is no better way to promote your specials, events, and new menu-offerings than with Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook posts. These platforms also allow you to communicate directly with your guests, and answer their questions in real-time. In fact, it has been reported that 45% of consumers will go to social media first when they have a question or concern.

While there are many obvious benefits to using social media for your business, you may not be taking advantage of all the ways in which you can use these free platforms to bring in traffic. Here are 3 social media campaigns you can run at your restaurant to drive business this week:

Food-Sharing Contest

We ran a contest where users were asked to share pictures of their favorite LevelUp merchant food, tag us, and use the hashtag #leveluplunch to be entered.

A simple way to get started is to hold a weekly contest that encourages users to share pictures of their food. Keep it simple by having guests take a photo of their meal, sharing it on one social media platform (Facebook, Twitter, or ideally, Instagram), following your account, and tagging you in the photo. Each week, pick a random customer’s entry to win a $15-$25 gift card to use on their next visit.  You can advertise this promotion by telling customers about it when they sit down for their meal, and by sharing it on your social media channels. Be sure to ask guests’ permission to re-share the photos on your accounts!

Offer Coupons For Followers

It’s important to cater to your existing audience on social media, and the customers that have been following your accounts for a while. To reward them, and get them to pay a visit to your restaurant, consider offering exclusive coupons on your channels. One way of executing this is to take a picture of a special or new menu-offering, share the image on social media, and make the caption something along the lines of, “Come in tonight and try our new carnitas tacos! Tell your server the code word “INSTAGRAM” for 20% off your meal!”

Additionally, you can use coupons as incentive for signing up for your email list, and share those deals on link-friendly platforms such as Facebook. See Applebees’ incentive below..

Partner With A Local Influencer For A Giveaway

We’ve previously discussed what exactly a social media influencer is, and how to establish a partnership with one, so why not turn that partnership into a giveaway? Some options for great giveaway items to excite your guests are gift-cards, free tickets to an event you’re hosting, or discounted rates on private in-store events. Partner with an influencer to help promote your giveaway on their social media channel. This will maximize the amount of entries.
